The Northern Interscholastic Press Association (NIPA) was established in 1921 by a group of University of North Dakota journalism students. NIPA is now part of the School of Communication for the promotion and improvement of school newspapers and yearbooks in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Manitoba, Canada.
