Jeremy Murphy is originally from Grand Forks, North Dakota where he attended the University of North Dakota for one year. (Go Sioux!) He transferred to Augustana Collegein Sioux Falls, South Dakota to wrestle at the Division II level.
Upon receiving his journalism/communication degree from Augie, Murphy worked at the Gillette News-Record, an award-winning daily in Gillette, Wyoming, for a year as a health and sports reporter. However, it wasn’t long before he realized teaching was his true passion and he returned to the great, upper-Midwest to receive his teaching degree from Minnesota State University-Moorhead. He currently teaches sophomore English, yearbook and newspaper at West Fargo High School in West Fargo, North Dakota. Along with being a publications advisor, Murphy also coaches the junior varsity wrestling team and is an assistant coach for Student Congress.
As the coordinator of NIPA, Murphy collects ideas and suggestions from publications advisers around the region and incorporates them in an attempt to enhance the educational and competitive value of the organization. Questions or suggestions about NIPA can be sent to jpmurphy@west-fargo.k12.nd.us.
